Why Choose Wool Pom Bouquets Over Cut Flowers

Cut flowers look good for a week, sometimes two. Then the petals drop, the water clouds, and you start again. Wool pom bouquets skip that cycle entirely. Made from 100% New Zealand wool, they hold their colour and shape for years with barely any upkeep. Shake them out occasionally, keep them away from direct sun, and they will look the same next spring as they do today.

We hand-finish every pom in our Cornish workshop and wrap the wire stems in 100% biodegradable jute twine. No plastic in the product, no plastic in the packaging. The stems bend and reshape to fit any vase you own, so the same bouquet works on a mantelpiece, a hallway table, or a bedside shelf.

Choosing the Right Bouquet Size

The Trio and The Bunch

The Trio gives you three stems (two Grande Poms at 6cm diameter, one Pop Pom at 5cm) and works well in a bud vase or on a windowsill. It is also the most popular gift size. The Bunch steps up to six stems, mixing three Grande Poms with three Pop Poms, enough to fill a small to medium vase without crowding it.

The Bouquet and The Grande Bouquet

Both contain ten stems. The Bouquet uses Pop Poms (5cm) for a tighter, more textured look. The Grande Bouquet uses Grande Poms (6cm) for a fuller arrangement with more visual weight. If you are filling a wider vase or want the bouquet to anchor a room, the Grande is the one to go for.

The Statement

Twenty stems: ten Grande Poms and ten Pop Poms. This is the centrepiece size, designed to fill a large vase on a dining table or in a hallway. At £125 it is the largest in the range, and because wool holds its colour and shape, it will still be earning its place in the room years after the first day you set it out.

Five Collections, One Coastline

Each collection takes its palette from a different stretch of the Cornish coast. Coast runs cool and quiet: soft greys, chalk whites, a blue that reads somewhere between slate and sea. Sea Pink brings in warmer tones. Sea Glass sits between blue and green. Sunset picks up the oranges and golds of an Atlantic evening. Wild is the boldest of the five, with richer, deeper colour.

If none of the pre-made palettes are quite right, individual colour sets (sold as five Grande Poms or five Pop Poms in a single colour) let you mix across collections and build something entirely your own.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wool Pom Bouquets

How long do Protea Poms last?

Protea Poms are crafted from 100% New Zealand wool and designed to last for years with minimal care. Unlike cut flowers, they won't wilt, drop petals, or need replacing, making them an exceptional long-term investment for your home.

Are Protea Poms suitable for people with allergies?

Yes. Our poms are made from naturally hypoallergenic New Zealand wool, making them a beautiful option for those who can't have fresh flowers or synthetic alternatives in the home.

What sizes are available?

Five sizes, from three stems to twenty. The Trio (3 stems, £24), The Bunch (6 stems, £42), The Bouquet (10 Pop Poms, £62), The Grande Bouquet (10 Grande Poms, £68), and The Statement (20 stems, £125).

How do I care for my Protea Poms?

To keep your poms looking their best, gently shake or use a soft brush or cool hairdryer setting to remove dust. Keep them out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from humid environments like bathrooms. If storing, wrap loosely in tissue paper. The jute stems can be gently reshaped to suit any vase.

What is your returns policy?
